Folk Grounds SS26

House of Aama’s SS26 Collection, Folk Grounds, unfolds as a living ecoverse- rooted in the labor, land, and African American agrarian legacy of the American South. Set within the fictionalized resort universe of Camp Aama where history, folklore, and memory take root.
This season reimagines the myth of John Henry beyond the railroad, returning him to the soil. Alongside his wife Pollyanna, he transforms the inherited Henry farm into a lush gathering ground where labor meets leisure, stewardship becomes ceremony, and legacy blooms across generations. Guided by the wisdom of herbalists, rootworkers, farmers, and fishermen, Folk Grounds honors the knowledge systems that sustained our ancestors and shaped our understanding of land, care, and belonging.
Inspired by our maternal farming, labor, and fishing heritage throughout the Carolinas and the American South, the collection serves as a tribute to our late ancestors, Gilbert and Faye Henry, whose lives and labor remain woven into its foundation.
Original House of Aama textiles draw from the landscapes that raised us: magnolia, swamp rose, periwinkle, sunflower, and cotton. These floral narratives are joined by classic boating stripes, pastoral toiles, and vibrant scenic prints that celebrate both the rhythms of Southern country life and the enduring mythos of John Henry.
Welcome to the Folk Grounds at Camp Aama.
