Folk Grounds SS26

House of Aama’s SS26 Collection, Folk Grounds, unfolds as a living ecoverse — rooted in the labor, land, and African American agrarian legacy of the American South. Set within the fictionalized resort universe of Camp Aama, the myth of John Henry is reimagined, where the hands of agricultural workers and laborers press history into the soil. Together, John Henry and his wife Pollyanna transform their inherited Henry farm into a lush gathering ground, a place where labor meets leisure and legacy blooms. A call rooted in the practices of his herbalist and rootworking forebears

This season honors our maternal farming, labor, and fishing heritage within the Carolina and Southern states, and stands as a tribute to our late ancestors Gilbert and Faye Henry, whose lives and labor anchor the spirit of Folk Grounds. The collection comes alive through original House of Aama textiles inspired by Southern flora — magnolia, swamp rose, periwinkle, sunflower, and cotton — joined by a classic boating stripe, a pastoral toile, and a vibrant scenic print that centers both the rhythms of country life and the enduring mythos of John Henry.

Welcome to the Folk Grounds at Camp Aama.
